Great service. Prepared quickly. Food was perfectly prepared and delicious with good flavors. I got Vietnamese chicken noodle bowl, udon chicken stir fry, gyoza, cream cheese wontons, pork/shrimp egg rolls and Thai ice tea. The apps were my fav.

Let's be honest here...options for dining (other than fast food chains) are few & far between in La Junta. So, imagine our surprise when we had really good food at Asian Cafe!! Thai-Chinese-Vietnamese options. We had Cashew Chicken & Chicken Pad Thai. Both were awesomely delicious! Well-prepared & nicely presented. We just had water, but they offer a full selection of soft drinks as well as some beers & wine. The owner was very friendly...they took over the location about 2 1/2yrs ago. Glad we took the chance & ate here. Nice surprise!

Stopping in town to watch our daughter play softball. The flavors were just a little different and great. We had the basil cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, Mango Tango, Drunken Noodles, and the Singapore Noodles with chicken. We would highly recommend this place!

The food was very good. The coconut shrimp was delicious and melts in your mouth! The servings are large. It is simply decorated and the service was friendly and efficient. We will come here again when we are in La Junta.

Best food in la junta. Worth the price. The service is also top notch. We've eaten there several times since first trying it. I'll never go anywhere else for Asian cuisine

This was my first time here. Hostess was courteous and friendly throughout my entire visit. I ordered the wings as an appetizer and was informed they might come out a little after the main course and I was fine with that. I swear I didn't wait more than 5 minutes and the food came out! It was delicious and steaming when it arrived at my table. Not shortly, the wings were brought over and they were prepared nicely. I will definitely be stopping by more often when passing through La Junta! Great job!

We love the Asian Cafe! They've actually catered for two dinners we had recently, which include a large birthday party and a memorial dinner. They prepared food for between 125-200. It was reasonable, delicious, accurate, and ready on-time. The manager, Charlie, was very generous with the servings, and is so so kind. The meat is a much better quality than you might find at other area Chinese food establishments. Some of our favorite dishes are: vegetable egg rolls, orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef udon, and the grilled chicken teriyaki. If you are budget conscious, go for the lunch specials. You won't be disappointed!

Wow, this is a spot of brightness in La Junta. Asian Cafe just recently opened the doors with a new owner and it's fantastic. This spot used to be New China and it wasn't very good. Well never fear Asian Cafe is here and they are knocking it out of the park with great service and great food. I took my Mom there over Easter weekend and we both enjoyed our selections of Crispy Orange Beef and Panang Curry. Yip, I'm on a curry kick. We were offered steamed or fried rice to accompany our dishes. The restaurant is fairly small, clean and it was packed full of diners enjoying everything from Pho to Pad Thai. The other thing is, it must be pretty hard to get a liquor license in La Junta because I wasn't able to enjoy a Kirin with my curry. Sad face here... On the bright side though, La Junta finally has an Asian restaurant worth dining at. Pro Tip: They also offer Take Out

Asian Cafe

Asian Cafe at 414 W 1st St La Junta, CO 81050 is more than just a neighborhood stop—it's where flavors from the East meet the warmth of small-town Colorado, creating a spot that both locals and road-trippers crave for a quick lunch or a comforting dinner.

Discover the local favorite for flavorful Asian dining

If you're searching for Asian Cafe in La Junta, this humble yet vibrant spot on West 1st Street is the name that always comes up. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t need flashing signs or flashy interiors—it wins people over with bold, satisfying dishes and genuine hospitality. Whether you're a fan of stir-fried noodles, fragrant soups, or savory rice plates, the kitchen at Asian Cafe delivers each meal with consistency and care.

You won’t find a templated, commercial chain menu here. Instead, there’s a rotating cast of family-inspired dishes—each one plated with heart. Locals rave about the spicy beef stir-fry and sesame chicken, while travelers passing through often mention how lucky they felt stumbling upon this hidden gem. With generous portions and wallet-friendly prices, it’s no wonder the reviews are filled with comments like “a must-visit in La Junta” and “a delicious surprise in a small town.”

An experience that blends homestyle cooking with cultural warmth

Walking into Asian Cafe feels like being invited into someone’s home kitchen. The owners often greet guests personally, and there's a calm, welcoming rhythm to the space. It’s not just about eating—it’s about pausing, breathing, and enjoying something warm and cooked just for you.

Take the egg drop soup—simple in appearance, but layered in taste, with delicate ribbons of egg, a touch of scallion, and that comforting umami depth that only comes from slow simmering. Or the General Tso’s chicken, crispy yet tender, glazed in a sticky-sweet sauce that makes you go back for “just one more bite.”

What makes it even more compelling is the consistency. We’ve dined here multiple times over the past year, and every visit felt as if the dish was prepared by the same careful hand. That’s a testament to the kitchen’s discipline and the passion behind the counter.

A menu built on comfort, crafted with pride

Beyond the typical takeout favorites, the menu at Asian Cafe in La Junta isn’t afraid to stay rooted in the classics. You’ll find lo mein, sweet and sour pork, and kung pao chicken—all made with just the right balance of spice and sweetness. What surprises many is the texture of the fried rice: fluffy but not greasy, each grain distinct, tossed with veggies, egg, and your choice of protein.

Some days, the cafe adds specials not found on the printed menu—like a peppery Mongolian beef or crispy vegetable tempura. If you’re unsure what to order, just ask. The staff is more than happy to recommend something based on your preferences. That friendly, open interaction is part of the charm that keeps people coming back.

Location that serves more than food—it serves connection

Tucked away in a quieter part of town, Asian Cafe La Junta doesn’t need a big-city buzz to stand out. Its location is a familiar anchor for locals who’ve grown up dining there, and a refreshing pitstop for visitors navigating southeastern Colorado. Just minutes off the main route, it’s the kind of place you mark on your map and return to whenever you’re nearby.

Guests often mention how it feels like the kind of spot where conversations flow easily—between friends, families, and even strangers. Over a plate of steaming noodles or crispy wontons, the gap between cultures narrows. It’s food that speaks a universal language: comfort, flavor, and the joy of being fed with care.

So whether you’re a local searching for your next favorite lunch spot or just passing through town and wondering where to eat in La Junta, Asian Cafe at 414 W 1st St is worth every detour. It’s more than a meal—it’s a moment.
